All the best for the rugby shoot this weekend Canon S I ,hope you have heaps of fun catching the moment.

I did a rugby game here last weekend, I was asked to go do some photos of the home team, so stayed around for the action also, have not done sports for awhile, so re-fresher was good, missed a few goodies . My own fault, I should be out there more

Thanks for your reply Kathleen and your funnies ,I know i have trouble with composure and am sure the club will give me guidance in this area, also looking forward to the trips and social side of belonging to such a well known photographic society.I have now got all my lenses and 2 bodies that i need now so that gives me the equipment and inner strength i need,so if anything goes wrong with my pics it's me that stuffs up and not my equipment.I know they all say it's not what your using but how you use it but i don't agree,if your after a sports shot that needs f2.8 then you need that lens, you can't get a fast shot at f5.6 and get the desired effect,{which is to freeze the action and have good Bokeh in the background}Anyway i'm working on getting my camera and lens into AMI stadium this weekend for the Bledisloe but getting stonewalled every turn, seems you have to be an accredited photographer,i have 1 more option which will try tomorrow catch ya later

Hi Canon S I
I'm a member of a photography club, now about 12 years, and have learn't heaps.
I have met alot a wonderful photographers by going to some of the regional conferences and area meetings that I can get to. Club field-trips can be heaps of fun joining together for the day.

You will learn heaps from critiques on your images from club judges. Just remember it is others opinions and you might not agree, but keep an open mind.
Competition is good to sometimes get you out of your comfort zone, makes you look for more than the obvious to be in the running for those honours or medals.

My wife has often uploaded my photos and keywords in her spare time. I select and prepare the images and own the copyright and CB account, she is just pushing the keys on my behalf as far as I'm concerned. She has started a new job so is too busy to help which is probably why I haven't uploaded anything for a while :-)

topic: Why not film?

Hi Alistair,

Thanks for your query. Low-end scanned images are unacceptable due to poor quality and dust and scratches. However, a professional high-end film scanner would be acceptable if the images are large enough (and quality is sharp enough) to meet the size requirements.

Keeping in mind, all Large, X-Large or XX-large can potentially be purchased for large format printing, eg. banner, posters etc.

We would be happy to review your scanned images, please feel free to upload these with a note in the description area so this information can be passed onto the customer if required.

Look forward to seeing them.

Cheers for now,
The mychillybin team.

I've noticed you don't allow scanned images. I understand that the image quality from cheap, low-end scanners can be pretty poor so understand why you wouldn't want those kind of images on the site, however I have a top end film scanner and have some high quality scans from 35mm, 120 and large format cameras. Is this a blanket rule or are you able to be flexible?

Thanks!

Alastair
