Photographer is a loyal long term supporter of mychillybin and so chose to do it this way for convenience of the transaction. Others have done the same too previously.

cheers for now

If i was given the opportunity of cutting out the middleman i 'd do it in a flash,no problems there,were here to make money,not friends,and anyway of doing that is fine with me.So sorry not to be as loyal as some Chillys,but that's life,aye.

One lesson that some take from business is that strategic partnerships are often a good ally. Short term tactics may not have as much endurance in business as strategic planning.. But I know this is not a forum for life lessons. It could have been as simple as not trusting a potential buyer and a web transaction. I am pleased that there are brokers to handle such.

Having a business 'ally' can be good, but then that does come down to be seen favoritism which Canon_S.I has mentioned earlier.

But still, noone has answered why our images are taking so long to be reviewed? I'm not being negative here, just looking for a genuine answer.

The way I see it, the faster the review process, the earlier an image will be for sale online, the more chance of us getting a sale and mychillybin making money.

Thanks for all the comments, and we understand that waiting for moderation is frustrating, after capturing some great images.

Image processing sequence depends on multiple factors including;
* date of upload
* whether the photographer has requested urgency for some valid reason,
* whether the images are requested resubmissions,
* whether the images have been requested for a particular client request
* whether the images are the first uploads from a new photographer - often done early to identify early any problems before too many are uploaded
* managing a good mix of images appearing on the recent uploads
* processing an efficient batch from a photographer at a time
* finding a problem with images from a photographer that need to be resolved before more progress can be made
* processing monthly competition images
* etc

In terms of the most efficient use of the chillys time for the mychillybin community, very good results for members recently have been achieved by spending more time on some marketing projects for existing images and a little less processing new images. Hence record sales again last month, which benefited many photographers.

Time is also being spend on some new site capabilities to be released soon to ensure that site technology, and user experience, remains competitive. Also to moderate monthly hosting costs which continue to rise as the library grows. And also some new functions to help photographers keep their portfolios in top shape.

For new photographers in particular this can be frustrating as they have few images 'in the game', but their chance will come in time. The monthly financial returns that existing members with large portfolios of in-demand images now get, also took time to establish.

Despite these other tasks we do hope to reduce the moderation lead time before long. Although having said that, the oldest photographer upload waiting for processing today was uploaded on 10th August, and the next oldest 12th August - both photographers who have had many images processed in the last few weeks already. So other images were processed in the last few days instead of these oldest ones.

We see this delay of about a month for the oldest as not too bad after a period when an unusually large amount of time has been spent on marketing and development.

Cheers for now
the Chillys
