Hey

I'm now starting to get a bit more serious with contributing my photos to my chilly bin, and just have a question or two

• Is there a way to see my rejected files and reasons why they weren't accepted?
• After submission, is there a way to edit the files before they get accepted? Or even to view which ones have been uploaded?

This does come down to how organized the contributor is, but sometimes we can forget what images we uploaded say last week, but have no way of double checking?

Cheers

Mike

Hi Mike

Thanks for ramping up your image contribution to mychillybin. In terms of the specific constructive suggestions you raise ...

Image that are not accepted are shown as small images in an email back to you, generally with a brief comment about why. This email detail was a new development which started a little while ago, and seems to have been very well received. If an image is not accepted, the file is no longer retained on the mychillybin server (other than in small size in these emails).

As to knowing which images are waiting to be processed, this is something which we rely on photographers records to manage at present. In due course we could offer some additional access to images waiting to be processed - but currently have our IT development resources allocated to a number of other exciting developments just around the corner.

Thanks for the post and ideas - we look forward to seeing more of your images.

cheers for now

Hi there,

I have uploaded images more than a month ago and there's still quite a few waiting to be approved. How long are these going to take? Some images were accepted a week ago but only a portion of what I uploaded, initially I was told it would take 'up to two weeks'?

The chillys work a dual stream processing strategy at present which ensures that everyone typically gets some images processed every couple of weeks, but those with larger volumes of uploads do sometime wait longer to get them all through.

You may not believe this, but your images were second next in line and some were going to be processed again today even before you made this post.

cheers for now

Hey chillies

Just a quick question, I still have 76 odd photos awaiting approval from a month or two ago. How long will these take to process by any chance?

The only thing putting me off uploading any more is the lead times, I have a huge batch of images that would be ideal for this site, but at this rate it would be over a year to get approved?

Thanks for the upload enthusiasm. You are one of 2 photographers with 37 or more images waiting at present.

Many of your images are night scenes which require significant careful checking time in terms of verifying quality, so they will take some time to process. Night scenes, gannets, and cats which seem to predominate are not in high demand by customers, but we will process them through batch by batch.

Here is a list of images for which there is relatively low supply versus customer demand - you can also see this link at the bottom right of the photographers lounge page.

In terms of the mychillybin community, for established photographers with good existing portfolios, the best time spent by mychillybin is time spent on marketing images rather than adding additional images. For new photographers - processing new images is top priority. We seek to meet the needs of both types of members, although clearly we are not as fast processing images as you would like at present.
