Hi all

What software do you use for editing your images?

Personally i use Aperture 3 with my mac,i used to be able to use my photoshop cs2 on the same machine until the greedy buggers killed something in the programme that made sure ps2 wouldn't work with macs mountain lion version.

Now i think my images have lost something that photoshop had and aperture doesn't have, any thoughts?Cheers.

I also use Apple Aperture 3, but I also have the Nik Software plug-ins. The package of 5 plug-ins cost me about $400 a couple of years ago. The individual upgrades since were priced quite high by comparison and didn't seem to offer much more, so I didn't bite.

This morning, Nik offered me the whole upgraded package of 6 plug-ins for free, because I was a past customer. I thought it might be a scam e-mail at first, but it turned out to be kosher. I've now installed them successfully.

As a new user, you can buy the whole package for $US149. I was very happy with the old package and I'm sure the upgrades will be fine. The sixth plug-in is their HDR software. I'm looking forward to playing with that.

Google acquired Nik recently. They're being nice to photographers. I'm sure there's an angle, but who cares?

So far, I've only processed one image. I can now add borders with Nik Color Efex Pro 4.

I received the same email last night and all plug-ins work, shame i didn't receive it about 4 hours earlier as i had resubmissions to send into MCB,would've come in real handy for that project.I'm pleased Silver Efex pro2 is among the plugins as i had that before but wouldn't work with Aperture3 or the mountain lion upgrade,it's one of my favourite plugins, cheers.

I downloaded the plugins a couple of days ago, and spent a little time yesterday looking at tutorials and having a play with the effects available. Most of the actions you can replicate using ACR but overall at $US149 not a bad deal. If you look around you can find "coupon codes" that will say another $25

I use PS5 on my Snow Leopard Mac, shoot everything in RAW these days and edit in bridge. Works really well for me, and I have the added bonus of CS5 software like InDesign that I can use for other design projects.
