Hi and a happy new year all

I have been absent for a while just observing now and then.Now,you chillys need a stir up,if your going to keep up with the competition you need to put in the hard yards and upload everyday,not when a holiday season comes around,look at your overseas and local cousins,24/7.Obviouslly staff ect plays a big part but i get the impression your a family business,heard of shifts?i work shifts, only because i have to though.Anyway, more in means more out,kapish!!Apart from that your all doing very well,carry on.{mr humphries & co,are you being served}

Hi William,

couldn't have said it better... I currently don't feel like uploading images at all - only because there's NOTHING happening on the site. And as you said 'More in = more out', which is valid for both sides, the Chillies and us, the photographers...

Hope everything will be back to normal soon.

Cheers,
Thomas

Thanks Guys - we probably needed a bit of a stir up - were going to start processing again as from Monday, but may be able to bring that forward a bit.

Most mychillybin customers are on leave during January and hence are not on site to see images appearing on the 4 Just In pages - but perhaps it is better in future years to ignore this and to just process the images as they arrive as you suggest?

cheers for now

The Chillys know the stats and trends so I am sure they are acting in our and their business' best interests, and making most of the downtime - because let's face it - the world doesn't give people much downtime these days. Sounds like January is a good month for those who do submit to other countries to do some catch-up submitting to those places.

Maybe a little of both is needed - one or two new photos processed every day or two through January just make the site look alive for those who happen to wander in for a purchase and to encourage would-be and current submitters... then back to regular MCB action once the industry returns back to its normal routine for the year... In saying that I have noticed the odd upload here and there, so maybe just a couple more and we'll all be sweet.

PS. I do HOPE MCB people are getting a nice bit of downtime to recharge. Big Grin

Thanks for all the input on the need for speed and the need for rest - we actually agree totally with both. Suggest that we close off this topic stream now, and bear these comments in mind next summer.

This year is going to be another great one for mychillybin with further new features that are being worked on to be released soon to make the user experience even better for customers, and others to help photographers.

In the mean time can you help with comments on the post about mirrorless cameras?

cheers for now

Sorry, just got back from holiday,i just bought a 5D mk11 had i known about these mirrorless cameras i might've held off,but i can't see a full frame dslr camera in the near future.I just googled the topic and as far as i can see there only for compacts in the canon range and as a loyal canon customer i didn't look at the other DSLR suppliers,so no comments on that subject apart to say that the image quality might be better in low light situations.I can see no other use for mirrorless as top of the range dslr cameras do just fine in daylight situations.

I have got the hots for the Nikon D800 and a 28-300 Nikkor to go with it. Unfortunately I cannot present a very good business case for the package to my bank manager - unless sales pick up 8-)

Am interested to poll the chillies and fellow photographers on:

1. what is the game we are playing?
2. what are the rules of the game?
