Anyone else noticed the same?
I have 123 photos uploaded. Between June 08 and Dec 09 (18 Months) I had 32 downloads.
I averaged 1-2 a month.
So far in 2010 I haven't had 1 download, not a bean, nada, zip!!
In fact I even checked the other day to make sure my photos are still on the site...they are. Seems a bit strange, surely I could have expected at least a few downloads.
Why? Is it due to the economic downturn? global warming? Rogernomics? or maybe the new Auckland Super City?
Maybe my photos are "oh so 2009" and I need to upload some new ones?
Any ideas?

My theory is that MCB got so popular in their 2nd year that a lot of new photographers joined and uploaded their images - but the number of clients can not really grow at the same speed in a small country like NZ. Same size cake, more hungry mouths to feed...

But I'm still kinda happy with my sales here - the same phenomenon affected me way more with another agency that I'm selling images with :-(

Cheers,
Thomas

Besides that, a ratio of 32 sold images out of 123 uploads is pretty good - compared to my 62 sales out of 570 images...

I think that is just the way of stock photography.....same happens with me, nothing for ages then suddenly 2 or 3 in one week. I don't depend on it for an income so it doesn't worry me, but maybe you could just check your key wording in case there's anyway you can improve on that.

Don't give up, you have a very 'sellable' gallery so I'm sure you'll have more luck soon.

I agree with the comments made by fatsprat and absolut. With more and more photographers being added all the time and more work by those and previous photographers there is a lot more competition for sales. I experience the same highs and lows in sales.

I do suggest uploading some more to your portfolio though. It helps bring more exposure. increasing the chances of people finding your work by sight ('I like that image and have an upcoming campaign it would suit' sort of reaction) instead of only through deliberate keyword searches. Best wishes for some movement in your sales soon!
