Hi Chillybinners,

Yes I know you are still on holiday, and I hope it's a good one, so am not expecting a quick response.

I wondered about a card that had info about Chillybin on it, that we photographers could use to introduce ourselves and the site to potential models. It might help to break the ice with people (strangers) when asking if they mind having a photo taken, or before signing a release. In my experience, people are more likely to agree once they have the information to make a decision. And it might help photographers with the confidence they need to ask to take the photo. It needn't be big - credit card size maybe - and just needs very simple information eg what the photo might be used for, website address etc. Just like a business card really. I guess they could also be used to pass onto potential clients. We could each carry a handful. I'd like to hear others opinions, I'm sure there's pitfalls I haven't thought of, probably cost would be a factor you need to think of. What do you think?

I quite like that idea. As someone who hasn't done photography for very long, I often find it quite intimidating to ask talk to someone about a photo I've just taken of them/ask permission before taking one. I think with a business card, it would help with as I would be able to verify much more easily that I am actually taking photos for a business reason and that I'm not some scary stalker!

Obviously there would be costs involved in printing the cards and I would have no problem covering them if need be.

I think this is a great idea, I too have had side ways glances over asking permission to take photos of children in the park. Maybe a standard card. Ideas from designers/photographers of content not sure if MCB could maybe organise an icon for us to download at whatever cost/credit for each individual photographer.

Hi Karen and simikiel,

Thanks for your suggestions - we will discuss this with the team and look into the options. In the meantime, if you have a business card of your own, this may help too.

Mychillybin does have a simple model/property release currently available to download under the Legal section of the site with the mychillybin logo/branding and also the website address. You could give them a copy of this to take with them.

Cheers for now,
The mychillybin team.
