Just wondering why some submitted images are being moderated within a few weeks and others can take 2 months or longer?

Hi

This is a question that gets asked from time to time. At present the oldest images waiting for moderation are from April and July 2016, and they wait for photographers to respond to queries, or supply releases. At some stage they may answer and these images be moderated.

mychillygin does not guarantee to process images in the order received, rather processing them in the way that seems best for customers.

Whilst this usually involves a degree of sequential processing a number of other factors also apply such as processing efficiency, and providing a spread of different image types in the recent uploads section.

Photographers who typically submit a small batch of well selected images (rather than lots all very similar) will often have their complete list of waiting images processed in one batch whilst they are open for processing in the interest of efficiency. This sometimes includes some very recently uploaded images.

Photographers with very large uploads, particularly when there are many similar images in the upload, will typically be processed in batches to maintain interest on the recent uploads pages and share to some degree processing time between members.

Difficult moderation images are processed when the processing team at at their best, not during more tired parts of the day or week.

These are the main factors that come to mind, although other factors can apply at times too, including seasonal ones.

Hope this helps.
