January 2013 winner - Holiday Inaction or In Action
Another 20 great images - desipte it being the lazy daze of summer.  See them all at this link.
Boats, biscuits, beach, bench, bach, bbq's, beer and the backyard covers just about all the images.  Lots of really great stock images here, but the winners in this competition are those that have best captured the essence of the subject in the judges view, as well as being great stock images.

WINNER

"Being towed behind a boat on a biscuit", by Mark Meredith

The faces in this image show sheer exhiliration; without any conscious awareness of the camera. Summer in action. Natural, like this, is important for many (but not all) mychillybin customer applications.  The frozen water droplets add to the drama, and the NZ coastline helps ground it as a NZ image.  $125 on its way to you early next week Mark.

The other arm of the competition sought an inaction summer image.  Again lots to choose amongst.  Wet weather in the DOC hut, a rare yesteryear Kiwi bach & caravan scene,  a couple of really great sunbathing images, floating, empty rugby grounds, resting at mums feet, and lazing on the bench.  Scrabble too depending on whether it is your or anothers turn.  Perhaps controversially, "Man relaxing in the sun, by a lake" by Kiwiangel Belinda Osgood has been chosen as competition runner up image.

The chillys like the simplicity of the image, along with the restfulness from the thirds rule composition (vertical and horizontal), combining to create a feeling of contemplation, or  inaction.  The relatively low light on the face is not seen as a detracting as attention quicly moves to the distance in the image.  And once you are over shall we say 35 or 45, what better in summer than a relax in the sun from time to time, away from the crowds, on a bench by the lake.  Whilst the brightness of the foreground grass can be a bit distracting, it is also a suitable location for softening text overlay.  Well done Belinda $75 coming your way.

Thanks again to all others - and hope your images sell real well too - perhaps even better than these - it all depends on what subjects are in demand day by day.

Feb 2013 Competition - closes midnight tonight ... OK tomorrow night then. Motion Blur.  You can still get entries in if you are quick.

Mar 2013 Competition
Subject;  Elderly (people, equipment for the elderly, services provided to the elderly, ...).

Really appreciate all the great images that keep coming in - it is the quality of these images that help to keep keep our sales volumes growing strongly year by year.

cheers for now
