December 2012 winner - Kiwi Man or Men
Another dozen great images from this competition desipte the busy time of the year. See them all at this link.
From this 'gallery' it seems that kiwi males include at least tradesmen, gymnasts, golfers, dog lovers, beer loving water sportsmen, builders, putatara blowers, and linesmen. A great selection, but still quite a few gaps for those keen to see the Kiwi male defined a little more broadly.
Man passing beer to a wakeboarder on lake Karapiro, by Myles Andrews
This image captures superbly (albeit stereotypically and worryingly) the renowned love of sea and beer combined, by many Kiwi men.
A challenging composition this we all know in tems of gaining the needed visual connection across the gap between the man in the boat and the man on the board - brilliantly connected here through the outstretched arm (and the tow rope). The faces are well lit and the boat man's expression so typically kiwi male. The wake looks dramatic and provides the perfect context for the action. A great image that connects emotionally with many viewers. Hard to ignore. $150 on its way to you early next week - winning is getting to be a habit Myles.
Thanks again to all others too - and hope your images sell real well too.
