Hi William.
Yes I did read in the newsletter of their new adventure into stock photography. Change can be positive though with fresh ideas and out-looks individuals have so you don't get left behind or stuck in a rut , we just got to get behind them as you say, get in contact and speak of any concerns, I'm sure they would appreciate your contact.

Set subject competitions is also a great way of giving photographers a little push to think out-side their comfort zone and learn ourselves new techniques, plus also for mychillybin to gather up images for stock that maybe are in a little short supply. I'm looking forward to viewing all the entries entered for the 'kiwis in context' competition.

Your photography is looking great William, hows the photography club you were thinking of joining last we talked, are you enjoying it?

Hi Kathleen and thanks for your comments, much appreciated .Set subjects is what i was thinking as there's millions of opportunities there for all of us to practice all angles, lighting ect and as you rightly say get out of our comfort zones, sorry, gotta run now but will be back sometime soon

Fantastic, glad you are enjoying the photography club

You got some good shots there for the 2 or more different ethnicities for the competition of the people Dragon Boating, well done. How did you get on getting all their model releases? It took me two months to hunt down a couple of rugby players I took photos of back last season.

One thing this competion has hit home for me is get those model or property releases at the time you get the photos, even if the photos don't turn out it saves the big job of hunting people down later if you do get a good pic and want to use it.
I have enjoyed the challenge of a bit of people photography, I have not done people for awhile, always seem to prefer things that don't move on me
All good over here on the West Coast, weather starting to cool a bit now, autumn colours starting to show, seasons are a changing.

I put an ad in the local weekly newspaper offering my services {photography only } stating that i would give them a final finished shot of their choosing for free and to be sent by email only {no printing}on the condition they all sign a release form,so i got the dragonboaters and 2 young aspiring wannabe models that i had to turn down, they were only 16 & 17 and didn't want the hassle of them getting permission from their parents for some stranger to take photos of them and sign a piece of paper ect.

Roll on autumn,love the colours.

Yeah your right KarenD,have to try keep ahead of the competition,as they say, personally i'm happy to make a quiet buck here and there as i reckon i'm inhibited on what i can do for this site as far as stock photography goes.Dreamtime now ...if i could do what i want,it would be world travel, not to the tourists traps but out in the wilderness or where there's little population and cover whatever I thought was important. But we all have a budget to live by which inhibits most of us,maybe for the better,or maybe not.

Kathleen, can you please show a shortcut to your smilies,i'm sure there was one ages ago but can't find it,thanks mate .I think more people would join in if they could use these icons to show their feelings, maybe a job for Admin actually.

Hi William
When you click on the smilie you want and the codes come up, just click on the code you want, copy of the site and then paste into the post you are doing, it writes a html/url code in your post, the pictures don't show up until after you finish and submit post reply.
