Dishing up the debate at Design Assembly

It was great to see so many of you at Design Assembly last night. Mychillybin were there pouring the drinks, soaking up the creative buzz - and we’re feeling rather inspired after listening to such a great line up of speakers.

Paul Newfield spoke about the debate of the NZ flag, and really got everyone talking about whether we should change NZ’s official bit of cloth. Here at Mychillybin we certainly think  it's worth a change after hearing about the history of how our existing flag came about... Find out more and decide if you want to join the movement on Facebook, just type in "New Zealand Flag".

Elliot "Askew" O'Donnell blew us away with his life story and the meaning and passion behind his work. Our personal favourite was his "I wish this was a swimming pool" painted into the expansive (and expensive) hole in the ground that was to be the Soho Complex. Check out www.tmdcrew.com to see how it eventuated into a real pool party...

Inspirational Simon Shaw concluded the evening with his story of illustration and Watermark Ltd.  Thanks for the sneak preview of the not-yet-publicly-seen (hush hush) animation music video too Simon – we thought it rocked!

So...another great Design Assembly bites the dust.  Make sure you get along to the next one, these events are definitely shaping up to provide great opportunities for inspiration, motivation and ...well just a good chance to meet other creatives and drink some good wine really.  Need we say more?
